“Music at the Wende” is a new series of free concerts presented by esteemed Southern California musical organizations at the Wende Museum. This Friday’s presenters are the MCL Museum and Kamau Daáood — a performance poet, educator and community arts activist who is widely acknowledged as a major driving force behind Los Angeles’ black cultural renaissance.

The concert is made possible in part by the City of Culver City, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Performing Arts Grant Program, with support from Sony Pictures Entertainment.

Helms Design Center and Cal Poly are hosting a free reception, lecture, and discussion tomorrow evening with architect John Enright. A highly respected teacher of design and technology, his firm’s award-winning work ranges from large-scale commercial and residential commissions to furniture design and gallery installations.
