RiverPark’s setting along the banks of the Los Angeles River in Cypress Park is definitely a big plus. Easy access to the 2, 5 and 110 freeways make for a short commute to downtown L.A., Glendale and Eagle Rock, while bus and rail travelers quickly connect to destinations throughout the county from the nearby Metrolink Gold Line station.

In addition to the Taylor Yard Village master plan — home to RiverPark — and the adjacent Rio de Los Angeles State Park, the site of the former rail yard includes 41 riverside acres that are key to the planned restoration of 11 miles of natural habitat between Cypress Park and downtown.
Mayor Eric Garcetti refers to this “G2 Parcel” as “the crown jewel in our vision to revitalize the L.A. River…and the wildlife that call it home.” Purchased by the city in March for almost $60 million, the future parkland will “open more than a mile of direct access to the river for local communities,” states Garcetti.
The existing Glendale Narrows/Elysian Valley Bicycle Path and Pedestrian Walkway already winds along the picturesque riverbank, offering 7.4 miles of enjoyment for walkers, joggers and cyclists who frequently spot resident wildlife — including herons, egrets, ducks, geese and kingfishers — while hawks and eagles circle above. And the opening of the 1,200 foot Riverside Drive Bridge now connects Cypress Park, from a new roundabout at the intersection of Figueroa and San Fernando Road, to Elysian Valley — with a protected lane for pedestrians and cyclists.

RiverPark residents also rave about the abundant shopping, dining, fitness and entertainment opportunities nearby, including Atwater Village, Mount Washington and Highland Park.
Popular local spots include Golden Road Brewing, Zebulon Cafe, Civil Coffee, the Lemon Poppy Kitchen, Habitat Coffee Shop, Everybody Los Angeles Gym, Good Girl Dinette, the Atwater Village Theatre and L.A.’s oldest bowling alley, the Highland Park Bowl.
